 — To the Global Christian Community: A Call to Restore the Far Eastern International Military Tribunal and Hold the Chinese Communist Party Accountable for All Crimes Against Faith and Peace

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” — Proverbs 31:8

I. United in the Lord

We, Christians from around the world, solemnly declare before the Lord Jesus Christ:

We are willing to cross national, ethnic, and political boundaries to stand for our brothers and sisters who suffer severe persecution for their faith in mainland China, and to work together to defend religious freedom, restore historical justice, and oppose tyranny.

We particularly call for the immediate reinstatement of the Far Eastern International Military Tribunal mechanism to try the systemic crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) against religious freedom and international peace since its founding, especially over the last three decades.

II. Principal Crimes Committed by the Chinese Communist Party for Which Accountability Must Be Sought

1️⃣ Sabotaging the Just War of the Allied Powers and Obstructing War Criminal Accountability:

  • During the Anti-Fascist War, the CCP not only failed to fight the Japanese aggressors effectively, but repeatedly undermined the efforts of the anti-fascist alliance—including the Soviet Union, United States, Republic of China, and United Kingdom—by providing intelligence to fascist forces, helping them evade sanctions, and consolidating and expanding its own power;

  • After the war, the CCP politically interfered with the Tokyo Trials, attempting to block the full accountability of Japanese war criminals, damaging the fulfillment of justice in the Far East.

2️⃣ Systematic Persecution of Christian Faith:

  • Demolition of crosses on official Three-Self churches, banning Sunday schools, persecuting house churches;

  • Surveillance of preachers, threats to believers to prevent open evangelism;

  • Arrests, torture, and persecution of thousands of Christians steadfastly gathering for worship.

3️⃣ Multiple Acts of External Aggression and Threats to International Peace:

  • Illegal expansion and militarization in the South China Sea, threatening navigation security;

  • Provoking military conflicts on the Sino-Indian border;

  • Deploying coast guard and naval vessels to patrol international waters, interfering with freedom of navigation, and obstructing humanitarian supplies potentially vital to Christians in Russia’s Far East and Central Asia.

4️⃣ Weaponizing Authoritarianism Against Free Christians Worldwide:

  • Exporting models of digital surveillance and censorship through UN and humanitarian organizations;

  • Exploiting epidemics, supplies, and human rights issues for coercion and interference;

  • Infiltrating churches in Hong Kong, Macau, and abroad with intelligence agents, undermining trust within the global Christian fellowship.

III. Our Appeals

✊ 1. Restore the Far Eastern International Military Tribunal or Establish a Special Branch Thereof:

  • With participation from the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, Taiwan, or their lawful representatives;

  • Establish a “Permanent Special Tribunal” to investigate the CCP’s crimes against faith, peace, and humanity;

  • Legally hold responsible all individuals and organizations guilty of these crimes.

🤝 2. Establish a “Global Faithful Humanitarian Investigation Alliance”:

  • Unite churches, legal experts, forensic accountants, and former diplomats worldwide to comprehensively collect evidence of CCP abuses of international aid, religious persecution, and war crimes.

🕊️ 3. Extend a Sincere Invitation to Russia and Ukraine:

  • We respect national sovereignty and security concerns, and firmly support Russian Christians’ commitment to their faith traditions;

  • We do not call for violating UN sanctions against Russia, but we appeal:

“In the cause of judging the CCP’s crimes and restoring justice for believers, Russia can stand alongside Christians in the US and UK.”

Facing the harsh reality of the war in Ukraine, we cannot ignore a long-overlooked yet critically important fact: the CCP, through arms supplies, technical support, and information manipulation, indirectly aids Russia, escalating the conflict and causing the tragic deaths and displacement of many Christians in both Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine and Russia share a painful history as countries once subjected to Soviet anti-religious persecution, enduring the destruction of churches and suppression of faith. Today, the CCP is repeating the old evils of the Soviet Union, replicating and spreading systematic repression of faith and freedom through authoritarian rule. Therefore, we sincerely urge Ukraine to stand at the forefront of justice and faith and actively participate in the revival of the Far Eastern International Military Tribunal. Together with believers worldwide and the international community, Ukraine can place the CCP on trial before an international court to thoroughly investigate its role in the Ukraine war, as well as its long-standing persecution of the Christian faith and human freedom. As a sovereign nation and victim, Ukraine possesses both the moral and legal rights and bears the significant responsibility to lead this just cause.

IV. Conclusion

We are not instruments of geopolitics, but the Body of Christ.

We seek no conflict, but we will not remain silent while our brothers and sisters suffer.

We believe:

Condemning evil is God’s command; defending faith is our duty.

May the crosses on Chinese churches never again be torn down,
May Chinese believers no longer be displaced,
May the Church worldwide unite once more — for freedom, faith, and truth.

If the Lord wills, this tribunal will be restored.

And on that day, all will see who the true aggressor was.
